Marketing Your Website Thru Article Writing

An excellent way of doing marketing for your website is by writing articles. If an article has been carefully crafted, it can do well in placing your website a few steps higher than it would have ranked in a search engine. This only works if you have many articles written. Enhance your marketing plan of writing good articles by following the following 5 steps.

Have a list of topics that are related to each other before starting. If the articles to be written are related to the same topic, it helps you write faster and also makes the process of writing a large amount of articles a lot easier than it would have been.

Step 2 is to have a list of sub-points that are related to the topic. A good number would be 3 or 5 per point. Once you have this kind of structured writing, you will be able to write a whole article without much difficulty.

You can now group these articles back to back. The gist of doing this lining up is that they will be less time consuming to write because the subject matter lingers fresh in your mind. Therefore, once you have the psyche, write up as many articles as you can before you decide to relax. Other than increasing your working rate it also improve on the quality.

Keep everything as simple as possible. The paragraphs you use should be simple and concise. If you choose to stay simple, you will have paragraphs that make more sense and are more organized. The aim of this all is just to get a point across.

Always make higher speed targets and try to meet them. Take an hourglass and race against yourself so you can work quickly. Knowing where you stand and pushing yourself to move forward will help you gather more pace as you move along. Once you get to the level of being able to write fast, you will manage many articles per day.

You can then outsource some of the articles you write. The quantity of articles you have under your name will balloon if you have other people writing for you.

You need a foolproof system if you want to unleash multiple articles daily. You will have to start-off with a series of outlines that will guide your article’s feel. Have the outlines in a certain order. The articles will then build onto these as you work faster.

The Importance of Resource Boxes for Article Writers

You may be asking “What on earth has a Resource Box got to do with writing articles?” Well, it is the area that follows your article body and will provide a link back to your website or the merchant’s website – it is the area where you are allowed to ‘advertise’ yourself. It is also the area that is one of the most overlooked self-promotional opportunities that you have as an article writer.

You are providing the article directory with your free article, and they in turn provide you with the opportunity to advertise yourself – BUT only in the resource box!

When you sign-up with article directories, you will have an opportunity to create your authors bio or your resources box – some directories will allow both. Completing these areas is as important as the actual article that you are submitting.

Tips for Writing Resource Boxes

1. A resource box is not about the writer.

A reader is not interested in your ramblings about how many degrees you have, how many years experience in your field, where you have been, what you have done etc etc. To put it bluntly – your reader only wants to know what’s in it for him! Your Resource Box should be benefit related for your reader, rather than being an ego trip for you. However, it is important to include your name – do not forget this step!

2. Solution to the above is give your readers what they want :

- talk in terms they understand
- create curiosity
- sell them the ‘click’

3. Start with a “Lead in” phrase or statement to get your reader from your article to the Resource Box

- Do you need help with….
- Confused about….

4. Include a Benefit Statement - what in it for them/what your product will do for them once they purchase it.

Examples include

- Save time )
- Save money ) The BIG three
- Make money )
- Live Longer
- Attract a partner

5. The final part of your Resource Box is your Call To Action.

Keep it simple. Readers love personal help so you could say:

“Confused about….CLICK HERE (or CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW) and I will help you learn more….”

Leave your reader wanting more to encourage them to click on your link and most importantly INCLUDE your link.

To summarize your resource box should include your name, website address, what you are selling, as briefly as possible, and a simple call to action.

Article marketing is an online advertising method that entails business owners and individuals writing articles that are related to a specific industry or product. These articles are made available to the general public for distribution across the internet. Each article that is written usually contains an author resource box which may have contact information and references to the authors business. Articles that are well written that are released for distribution across the internet have the potential of increasing the credibility of the writer or business and may help them attract potential clients.

There are currently two different kinds of article marketing that I will go into. There is the internet and the traditional kind. Traditional article writing has been around for nearly as long as mass print and is used much by professionals. These types of articles are written in print form and are utilised mainly by business owners by obtaining free advertising space. For example, a local business might provide a newspaper with information free of charge and they can use this information providing they include the contact information with the article. Because most newspapers and other more traditional forms of media are expected to acquire information on a fairly limited budget, this arrangement is generally beneficial for all parties involved.

Internet article writing is the over kind, which is very commonly used nowadays. This technique is used to advertise services and products through article directories. Many of these directory sites receive large volumes of traffic and are viewed as authority sites by the major search engines. This makes it most ideal for people when submitting and writing content to these sites.
